How much trouble can one get into if caught with fake high school transcripts?

  • I am graduating from high school this year and will be applying to an international school. To do so, I need to have a photocopy of my transcripts. I am not actually considering, but was simply curious as to the legality of making a fake copy, i.e. I scan the transcripts onto a microsoft word document then, edit the grade numbers and make them higher. Can this be pulled off? If so, what happens if the school somehow finds out? Could I be arrested? How could the school find out? Could an international school really find out, even one from India?

It is likely that no international school would accept you, no high ranking universities, and you dependent on your country's laws, you will likely be in legal trouble.

This is not possible because most schools need OFFICIAL transcripts. That means, they are sent in a sealed envelope directly from school to school. They will never pass through your hands.
