How to keep your grades up to A's and B's?

Help! No matter what I do I keep screwing up!?

  • Okay, I need help in school... No matter what I do I keep getting low grades! I try and try and try but I always have to f**k up some how... I do all my homework what happens? I forget to turn in my map attachment... half credit... I have done all my homework so far! EVERY SINGLE ASSIGNMENT! And what happens to my hard effort? Oops didn't turn in this part of it... F! Accidentally skipped one question... F! The two worst parts? I have to get a parent signature on my progress report and no matter what I do my parents think those are my actual grades... Yeah actual grades every 5 weeks? Don't think so... Lastly when I check snapgrades I see that completing an assignment raises your grade 0.6% but when you miss an assignment worth the same amount of points it's minus 1.6%?! That's bs! I need help... Not necessarily extra credit (like my teachers even give extra credit) but it's like bad luck is up in my a**. I DID EVERYTHING! EVERY SINGLE ONE! BUT I HAVE TO REPEAT HAVE TO SCREW UP SOMEHOW! Is there anyway someone can help me?! Or even just tell my parents that these are UNOFFICIAL?!?! God it's like their skulls are a mile deep!... Help!

Hey Greg, a couple of thoughts: 1. you're disorganised. (note I am English—our spelling's different!) here are a few thoughts on getting organised. • Don't just get stuck straight in, preview an assignment fully before you start. • Break it down into it's key steps and make a 'key task list'—all the things you must do • This list becomes the front page or index to your assignment • Each task should be ticked off as you complete it • When completely ticked off the list becomes a checklist to help you put all the papers or bits together so you don't forget any. • Treat "Getting organised" as a personal learning task ... get books from the library and find sites on the net 2. You have lots of intelligence (your question shows this) so use it! Learn to go outside the square to solve problems. Like: • Your parents think your progress reports show actual gradings why not write a short note that explains them and get your teacher to sign it. Then give it to your parents
