How would I transfer my high school credits to another state?

Should high students in military families still get their credits from mvoing state to state?

  • Im a high school student in a military family and when i move to where we were stationed from michigan to washington state i lost credits the first semester because i transfer from a school with only 4 classes to a school to 6 classes. & last year i moved back to michigan, and with both states credit systems being totally different, they didnt recognize alot of my credits. so it set me back a year. so next year i have to do a 5th year of high school....is that fair? is there any websites i can get any information? thanks!

  • Answer:

No, it's not fair but education is a state responsibility. You're not the only person in this position. Go to your senator, your congressman and the Department of Defence and point out your problem. If you have the names of others in the same boat, mention them. It may not be changed it time to benefit you but future students will be spared the problems you had.
