How To Access Facebook From School With Websites?

Is it legal in New Zealand for a school to demand access to your Facebook account?

  • Ok so yesterday me and my friend were called out of class over an incident that happened on Facebook where we were joking about an upcoming camp and how we can fill people's sleeping bags with snow, apparently a teacher over heard students in another class talking about this and passed it on to the head of the junior school. He then got evidence from his son's facebook account and printed the conversation out. Then when my friend was called into his office they demanded access to his facebook threatening expulsion if he refused even though they already had substantial evidence of the conversation (he was holding the printed copy in his hand at the time) and then went on to demand access to my facebook so the group in which it took place was to be deleted (which i noticed they kept logged in) they said they're is virtually no chance i am going on camp because this counts as bullying. The victims never saw the post, everything was a joke, they are continuing to threaten us with expulsion and if i am taken off camp i will leave the school. What action can i take ?

I dont think so, so long as you did not log in at school, but giv it to them then change your password.

Yup

Think about, two people conversating about letting off a bomb -even though they didn't, and might not even have done it. If evidence of planning is present then thats conspiracy. They may have been joking, but its taken seriously, instead of not. You MUST apologise, to whoever they feel you should apologise to. Forcing a logg on into facebook is questionable, ask them what policy they have allows them to do this? They can do bag checks if something has been stolen but can't force you. Only the police can who will be called in.
