How late is too late to transfer to a different high school?

How can I convince my Dad to let me transfer from Private High School to Public High School?

  • Here is the thing. I go to a small private school. I hate it and I hate the kids there and they have no focus on athletics. I want to transfer to my local Public school. has 2000 kids (as opposed to 500 in a school 3rd to 12th grade). My dad went to the Private school I go to and thinks its really good, but I would be much happier at the public school , and I would definitely work hard on academics. How can I convince my dad to let me transfer to the public school for 11th grade?

  • Answer:

my step sister had this same problem when she moved in wit me. he mom made her go to private school but she wanted to go to my public school. wat she did was make a deal wit her mom. the deal was that if she got a 3.5 or higher on her report card that semester that she would be able to transfer. she didnt get a 3.5 but she cryed enough about it until the point where her mom just transfered her out of frustration. so basically make a deal wit u dad.

Before you do this, think about what this is going to mean when you apply to college. Your high school might suck, but you only have 2 years left. Imagine having to spent the 4 years after that in a crappy state school with no good classes, few intelligent people, apathetic underpaid teachers, and bad food. (I've done it. It sucks.) Public education is a joke in the world of academia. If you're sure you want to do this, I'd work the financial angle. Public school=free. You could also appeal that going to a larger school will improve your social skills. Tell him about any clubs/sports/programs that the public school offers, but your private school doesn't. If that doesn't work, you could always try crying. lol

tell him u want more freedom like say i want to do athletics and tell him to try it for a cople of months and if it goes bad then he can send u back.... also say if u wear uniforms then say i want to wear my clothes and public school is cheeper
