Chance of getting into ucsd?

Chance of getting into uc school?

  • hi, currently i'm a junior in high school, and i was wondering if you guys think i have a chance of getting into ucsd, ucla, or ucb. (uc san diego, los angelos, and berkeley) if im right, the uc system utilizes a WEIGHTED gpa system, where they also disinclude your freshman grades? so if thats true, then my freshman 4.0 gets thrown out -__-;; last year i recieved 2 b's and 5 a's, but one of my classes was ap world history. so, then it should be a 3.85 weigheted GPA. this year, im taking ap chemistry, ap computer science, ap united states history, ap wind ensemble, american literature, chinese 3, and pre calculus. i am confident i can again get 5 a's and 2 b's, this would give me a 4.28 weighted gpa. so that plus my sophomore year grades will give me a ~4.1 gpa. i do extracirriculurs, i did cross country, track and field, marching band, youth symphony, i have a part time job, i have like 400 hours of community service with more to come, im in national honors society (NHS) and my pre-sat score was 204, my pre-act score was 28. (Both scores from sophomore year) do you think i have a good chance of getting in? (i plan to attend, then after graduating, attend ucsf dental school to become a dentist) thanks in advance :D

  • Answer:

With a 3.85 GPA you should at least be able to spell "extracurriculars".
