What counts as "Social Studies" is High school?
-
Im looking at required high school courses that must be completed in order to qualify for admission into UNF. Its says that I need 3 social studies classes. As a Junior I guess that this year would count as my third social studies class but the classes Ive taken seem to fall under History, not social studies. So far Ive taken AP Human Geography, AP World History and this year AP U.S. History. At first I thought that these could have been counted as social studies but then I saw that there was also a requirement of history classes as well... HELP?! (Im also taking AP Psych as an elective, do you think this could be counted as a social studies class? And next year I'll be taking a Government class that might count as well.)

Answer:
Any subject that is about people, culture and society is social studies. So e.g. History, Geography, Economics and Psych (this is one of the ones that fall in both categories, you should double check this one).

History classes should qualify for social studies. I just looked at the UNF admissions site and it doesn't say anything about also having history classes.

I took AP World History freshman year which counted as a social studies class. My friend took AP Geography which was also considered a social studies course. The only thing that wouldn't be counted would be things such as Government or Economics. At my school AP US History is only considered a history class which is required to graduate.
