What are some colleges for?

What can I do if my high school refuses to send transcripts to colleges?

  • So when I was at school (I'm on a gap year now), I applied to the UK and the US. I was rejected by the 4 places I applied to in the US, and I decided against going to the UK for some very valid reasons (9 colleges in all). The school policy was that it will support only 15 applications in all. So, this year I'm left with only 6. Now I really want to apply to some dream colleges, but my school isn't agreeing to send my transcripts to colleges. Aren't they my transcripts? What can I do now? Can I ask if colleges will accept me on the basis of my final IB grades, or if they will accept transcripts sent by me (if the school even gives them to me!) Please help me!

  • Answer:

They wont send the transcripts? that sounds absurd. But its likely that they dont want to spend a fortune on mailing stuff- which again is kind of absurd because part of the reason you go to high school is so you can get into college. I'd try offering to pay for the postage.

Offer to pay for the postage. Offer to pay for the transcript processing.
