Can someone explain social levels in school to me?

theres the quiet people that keep to themselves. the loners. then theres the people that socialize with just their friends, on the low end of this category the nerds and the high end the average people. then theres the people that socialize with a lot of people, that are very outgoing. these usually happen to be preps (because they are very confident about their looks and feel everyone likes them) and the jocks (because they are on teams and know a lot of people)
