Is there a way to find past school year schedules?

Need some Senior year (high school) scheduling advice. (Psychology AP and Chemistry AP questions)?

  • I'm making my senior year schedule right now (I'm a junior, if it wasn't obvious), and I am in need of some advice. This question won't be much of me writing/typing, but more of me listing some things and asking what you guys suggest. Sorry for having a LOT to read (at least it looks this way), I'll be sure to choose the best answer that seems to actually have some thought, not something like "choose this instead of that" for no reason. -------------------------- BACKGROUND OF MYSELF -Junior in high school, I am a good student, although not a GREAT student (initiative-wise), -I score much higher in state testing/PSAT kind of tests than my GPA reflects. -I am a B/C average student, although so far this whole year I've been on honor roll -I tend to not do my homework, until the last moment (I had a study last year and did my HW in that class, however) -If motivated, I will do my work (I.E. I got into honors history this year and made a point to do everything as expected of for a honors student) -Up until this year, I wasn't very motivated to do work, I have changed and do my work most of the time. -I tend to be an average student in any class I go into, but some subjects I tend to do really well in and enjoy a lot. I'm not sure if it's because I'm naturally good at that kind of a subject and enjoy it for that reason, or if I enjoy it, so therefore I'm good at it? -I don't know for sure what I want to study in college/do in life. I'm really interested in the military, and would love to join, but I feel I should do college first and then enlist/do ROTC in college. I also really love German, and Chemistry. I can't say for sure that I'd like to do Chemistry, though, because taking one Chemistry CP class isn't enough experience to tell me that I'd do well in "real" chemistry or in college chemistry. I want my senior year to be an easy year. However, I DO want it to be slightly challenging in 1-3 classes out of my 6 classes. ----------------------------- MY CURRENT SCHEDULE (junior year) - in order of most liked to least liked class (Lunch/gym = UNRANKED) 1. Chemistry CP (I suck at most sciences, but I seem to be good at this? I enjoy it a LOT, too) 2. German 4 CP (I LOVE German, I am very good at it and enjoy it very much, I also had the same teacher for four years who I enjoy) 3. US History 2 Honors (I love history, it's another one of the classes that I'm very good at and enjoy. I remember it very easily) 4. Introduction to Business (I probably only like this class because of the easy teacher and a lot of free time) 5. Introduction to Crafts (I hate this class, I only took it for my required art credits) 6. English 11 CP (boring teacher, a lot of work, too) 7. Algebra 2 CP (I hate AND suck at math) 8. Lunch 9. Physical Education/Health 11 ----------------------------- MY CURRENT PROJECTED SCHEDULE (senior year) - in no particular order *** means it is a class I'm willing to change with something else 1. Physical Education/Health 12 2. Sociology CP *** 3. Mass Media/Current Events CP *** 4. English 12 CP 5. Introduction to Culinary Arts (This is an easy class that I want to take for some "free time" my senior year) 6. German 5 Honors (I will def. take this class, although it may not be available next year.) 7. Lunch 8. Study Hall (I am def. taking this. I DID say I want my Snr year to be easy, right? _________________ MY QUESTIONS- 1. I'm currently in US History 2 Honors, and it is very easy. I'm not sure if it's because it's naturally an easier honors class, or if it's because I'm already good at History. Anyway, since there aren't any more history classes I can take, I decided to (possibly) take Sociology CP, and Mass Media/Current Events CP. Both of which my teacher said are easy classes, especially compared to honors. Anyway, I am also VERY interested in Psychology AP. I'm wondering how hard Psychology AP is compared to an honors class? Workload-wise, and how difficult the class is. 2. I am also wondering about Chemistry AP. I am very good in Chemistry CP, despite being terrible at the maths past Geometry/Algebra 1. I find chemistry extremely interesting and fairly easy to remember. Anyway, I wanted to know how much more difficult Chemistry AP would be if I was to get ~ an 85-90% final grade in Chemistry CP. This may sound like a foolish question, but I heard that AP and Honors classes aren't too different aside from a few key things. 3. Finally, I wanted to know how different "real" and "college/AP" chemistry is from CP chemistry. Is Chemistry you learn in high school considered a good base that chemists rely on? Or is it kind of a "joke" compared to how complex and different chemistry truly is? Thanks a lot if you actually read through this, It took me forev

  • Answer:

Chemistry involves a ton of math, the stuff you learn from chemistry cp is probably the first four chapter of chem ap i think its pretty complex. i mean if you want to take it you should but it is a challenge!

I think its stupid for your HS to require you to take stats on top of calc, but I'm taking everything you said (sans stats) plus a few more classes, and its fine. Calculus and Physics are kind of just one class, since everything you do in one helps with another, and I adored Econ... it's a genuinely fun class. Don't take APs with the intent of skipping college classes--If you go to Cornell or Columbia, you may get 5s on things (I got a 5 on AP Bio and Lit), and though Cornell will let me skip those classes, I won't... because it's *Cornell*. They're not exactly simple high school courses.
