How can I focus better in class?

How can I focus in class?

  • I mean, it seems like in every class I will be listening to the teacher, and I would just slowly drift off. After a while, I would snap out of it, but I would start drifting off after a minute or two. Sometimes I start processing her words in my head, but for some reason it wont make a lot of sense :/. It didn't really bother me at first, but O levels is next year, so I figured I should really try and focus on the lesson and try not to drift, but it keeps happening Q.Q. So what can I do to help me focus in class?

  • Answer:

Sitting in the first row is by far the best option; you have nothing to look at but the teacher, and you're not surrounded by students who are in the classroom just to laugh and bother. If you're still having problems with your attention, maybe you could try taking notes. It's a most successful way of keeping your mind busy all the time.. And you won't need to keep in your head everything your teacher said, as it's all in your notes! Hope you do better with these pieces of advice!

It's really hard to stay focused at classes which don't interest you a lot. So, try to participate and pay attention in subjects you like. For those, which aren't your favourite I have few tips. 1. Sleep well, you need at least 9 hours of sleep. 2. Eat breakfast. If you're like me and can't eat a lot in the morning find something you can eat. You don't need to eat a lot, for example I eat glazed cream cheese and bread everyday. 3. Sit in the middle of the classroom. You will be able to pay attention to teacher and also chat with your friends. Although, you should pay attention to teacher more. 4. Completly concetrate and don't distrub yourself. If you don't know what to do besides listening look into a teacher's eyes. It will show him that you're interested and pay attention. 5. You should know what's important and what's not. Write down things that are important. Have good notes. 6. Participate in class. Don't answer every question, because your classmates will think you're nerd. Try to answer question that you think your friends don't know answer to. Don't answer to retoric or simple questions. It's stupid. 7. Ask. If you are afraid to ask something in front of whole class. Stay after the subject ends and ask your teacher. You will show interest in his subjects. Only ask if you really don't know. Don't ask dumb questions. 8. Always do your homework, otherwise you won't be able to participate in class and your grades will start getting worse. 9. Before you go to sleep repeat main points of your subjects and check what you've done last time. 10. If you're feeling sleepy try to drink water, always be prepared to answer teacher's questions, also know why you're learing for - better future. Hope I helped. :)
