Can you drop out in 9th grade?

Should I drop my Geometry Honors class? I am a FRESHMAN / 9th GRADE?

  • It's the 1st day of school & I am already worried about Geometry and not passing it. Should I just drop the class and go to geometry ? I am really doubting my math skills since 8th grade because I didn't understand a lot of things. & I am constantly wanting to cry because I don't understand anything at all.

  • Answer:

drop to geometry. if you do bad in an honors class, then it'll make your gpa bad and also, I'll provide a weak base for you to build on later in high school

You should drop to Algebra honors. I know you probably already took it in middle school but your middle school credit doesn't count as a math credit in high school, just an elective. So you'll still have to take four high school math classes and go up to a higher level. I hate math but I always took the hardest classes and regret it. I know someone who did what I said and she ease happy she did it. She ended up being really good at algebra haha. And it's better to do well in an easy class than to struggle in a difficult class. I'm in college and I'm just learning that! And I'm making up for my bad math class decisions. If you don't want to do that, drop down to standard geometry.

I would drop geometry. If you feel like you're going to fail, you should definitely drop it... geometry on its own is a very difficult class and in a normal class thing move quickly... Normally I am a 90's and up person in math and in geometry I got a 78. You should drop it so that your GPA doesn't suffer because honors classes are weighted more heavily than regular classes. A regular geometry class will affect your GPA way less!

Dont drop it! You'll have to take it anyway next year. It's not that bad. I took advanced geometry frehman year. It's just formulas and postulates really.

I think you should maybe wait and see until the first quiz, and if you do poorly you could always go for extra help, if that fails then you should switch into regular geometry. Don't give up hope just yet :) I'm going into 9th grade a week from today, and am also in geometry honors :0 so you're worrying me a bit..
