Who has a degree in early childhood education?

Do you need a degree in early childhood education or education in order to be a kindergarten teacher?

  • I'm in my 2nd year of university working towards a Studio Art degree. I would possibly like to be a kindergarten teacher but was not planning on getting a degree in education, although I would possibly like to add a minor in Family/Child Studies (focusing on child studies). I will also try to get as much teaching experience as possible before/after graduation. Would this be acceptable or is a Bachelor of Education always required?

  • Answer:

A degree in education is always required to teach; either a bacehlor's or a master's.
