How many days of school can you miss a year?

  • I have a 3.3 gpa and i live in gig harbor WA but i've missed idk how many days of school all excused, well my dad is coming down to oregon and i wanna see him so i would miss 3 days of school all excused but i think my moms crazy and now she's making bull **** excuses like oh your gonna fail and what not if you miss this many days which si true but what if there excused? it's pissin me off i wanna see the guy after 2 years.

    Look in your school handbook and see if you have an attendance policy (if you did you would most likely know about it). In our school if we miss 16 days of a class then we fail it, even if it's excused.

Usually public schools will only allow a certain number of days off - typically 14 - 20 absences. From what I've learned, even if you do miss more than the limit, you can make them up in summer school, but that depends on the availability for your county. It also costs money. My opinion is to video chat (or something similar) with your father until school ends, which is only another month and a half.
