How to skip 8th grade in Texas?

  • Sorry for the repost, but I have too many things to update that will not fit in the additional details column. Anyway, I'm moving from the 7th to the 8th, but I am considering skipping 8th. I got commended on all of my TAKS tests this year (Reading, Math, and Writing and Editing, including a 4 on my written composition). I've also, just out of curiosity, took the 8th grade TAKS tests a few days ago. Commended again, on all of them. I want to skip grades because I can tell I'm not learning anything here, and even my all Pre AP course last year was very boring. I'm taking all all Pre AP again this year, but judging by the TAKS test, I will not be learning anything at all. I've gotton all A's and B's throughout the year, and this is because I am not motivated to do things I already know how to do. So, any advice? Anything would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
