Preparing for Nursing School?

Private school for nursing?

• I'm stuck and I need some advice. I have been attending a school that isn't a community college but isn't a private school, it's somewhere in between. However the nursing program is very competitive. I'm already a year behind because I had to go back through a fix a few grades so they would be A's, and I'm going to be another year behind because the school screwed up my schedule. Even then there is no guarantee I will get into the nursing program. I have a friend who got straight A's and they still won't accept her into the nursing school. I'm at my wit's end, I'm ready to get my life going and I feel like I'm going nowhere at this school. My only other options are a community college where I would only get my associate's (again, a very competitive school), or going to a private school for my bachelor's and shell out $80k. At this private school I would be accepted straight into the nursing program, no competing for a place. Is there anyone who comes from a private nursing school who can give me some advice? Maybe put me at ease and let me know it's the right thing to do?

  I doesn't really matter where you go to school as long as you get decent grades, get your degree and pass the NCLEX. $80k is pretty high though. You should be able to find a private school around $60k. Be aware that the market for new grads sucks right now so get as much experience during school as you can. I am a new grad and wish someone had told be that.
