Is Medical Assisting Worth Going to School for?

Im 19 years old and Im going to trade school for Medical Assisting?

  • Im a guy... and I'm stressing really bad because I havent been in school since High School (09) and trade schools throw a lot of work at you, which I have been keeping up with.. but some things are hard to remember. I've been going for 3 weeks already... and I'm stressing. Will it get easier once I adapt to it more? Thank you

  • Answer:

Your school should have some sort of tutoring center on campus. Go there! They offer information on study skills, note taking skills, and exam skills that you can use to improve how you're handling your course work. You do need to do well in these classes, but you don't have to struggle through it alone! This is what the tutoring center is there for. It may be that you just need to adjust your approach to your studies slightly. After all, it's been a couple of years since you were in HS - some of those skills may be rusty. You can also go to the professor's office hours, or arrange meetings with them, to review assignments or past exams. They also may have advice to help you better remember the stuff you're learning. Another thing that can work really well is to study with other students from your class. You'd form a study group with maybe 3-6 other students from your hardest class, and meet with them weekly to go over the material for the class. The best thing you're doing is keeping up with the work. That's important, and it's in your favor that you're doing this. Keep that up!
