Is it hard becoming a Bio teacher?

How can I become a science teacher without having studied science in college?

• I studied Psychology in college, and I am now 25 and unemployed. I have always had an interest in science, specifically Biology and Earth science, and starting to consider becoming a science teacher in either of those areas. How would I do this A. Without having studied these majors in undergraduate or B. having a teaching degree? Would this require a lot more schooling? If so, could I do this online? I need some advice from people in the know, or science teachers. Thank you! P.S - are there any graduate programs specific to Science Education where you can study bio or earth science while getting a masters in teaching? That would probably be ideal but I do not know if that even exists.

  To be a teacher you need to know how to teach, which you will learn at college. You also need to know your subject. It would be most unusual to be teaching Science just because you like it. You would need more than a school kid's knowledge of the subject, otherwise you would have no chance of answering questions or interpreting unexpected lab results. it would be the blind leading the blind. You would need to have post-school knowledge of your subject. It can easily be learned at College.
