How to write a history essay introduction?

Which essay should i write about for U.S. history (11th grade)..?

  • i get to choose one out of these three to write about.. which would be the easiest and where can i find information on it so i can be prepared to write about it on my final tomorrow..? 1. Compare and contrast Truman’s Fair Deal and Johnson’s Great Society. In this essay you will need to compare or contrast t each of the following: the programs in each, success of passage into law, reasons for success (or failure). Conclude with an assessment of each president’s political skill in trying to get his domestic agenda passed. 2. Trace the growth, development and changes in the Civil Rights Movement from the mid 1950’s through the mid 1970’s. In this essay you will need to address each of the following: origins, major players and events, shifts and changes in the strategy of the movement and splintering of the movement. Conclude with an assessment of the success and failure of the movement to achieve its primary goal of civil rights for all Americans. 3. Vietnam War as Cold War policy. In this essay you will need to describe the specific of how the US became involved in the war, how our involvement escalated and how we got out. Conclude with an assessment of the war as part of our policy of containment. OH and i get a notecard.. so i was planning on writing out my essay on the notecard. the essay is worth 20 points of the test. thank you!

    I think the civil rights movement essay would be the easiest to get information on, but Vietnam would be my choice because I know most about that subject off the top of my head. The note card will help, I know this from personal experience. Overall it is your decision but I would go with Vietnam.

I think you should write about number 3 the Vietnam War as Cold War policy. I like the Vietnam one the best because I think that's the most interesting war. Especially because of the tomb of the unknown soldier and the era it happened in, with the protesting and hippies and all that. Maybe not for you but for me I think it would be pretty easy for me to write. Good luck I hope you do excellent on this assignment.

I would do number 2, because there is so much stuff you can find on the civil rights movements.

go to ovguide.com and check out the education section and check out either frontline or another history program and try to find president johnson or truman. see if you can find out any info on what your looking for. good luck!!
