Should I go to culinary arts school?

I love love love to cook, and I am getting burnt out with regular school(i.e. Community college). I've always wanted to go to culinary arts school but its so expensive and I'm hesitant about taking out a huge loan and not finding work after school and being stuck with that big loan. But back to culinary arts school, my plan is to move to new york and live and work and go to school out there. Has anyone ever been to culinary arts school or does anyone work in the food/restaurant service?
