Fresh man in high school but i do know how to pick subjects and stuff.?

i am a fresh man in high school. i am going from a private small high school to a public one. I heard in public school you get to pick your own subjects but how will i know what subjects to pick. I want to go to a university but i do not know what subjects to pick so is there any one in high schol that can help me. THANK YOU i am in grade 10

you should talk to your counsolor one of the first day. they are usually pretty busy at the start of school because everyone wants to switch classes. A lot of times you are limited on what you can pick, and most schools have a lot of different chocies. Most of the time you can pick like 2 or 3 classes, they should be something you would enjoy, they are called electives. good luck, and have fun at your public school

Freshman is one word. 10 grade is considered a sophomore. for college you should have from HS 4 years of english 3 years of science with 2 of labs- take biology, chemistry for labs-taking physics is a good idea 3 years of math- 4 is better-take calculus 2/3 years of the same foreign language 2 years of history- US and World. Meet with a HS counselor to plan out your classes.
