Where can I get donations?

Where can I get help/donations for my daughters school?

  • My 7 year old daughter attends an Academy of Fine Arts. I just found out today that they are not a title school, therefore, they receive no funds from the district. I would like to help them out. They have school fund raisers during the year but it doesn't seem to be enough. The reason behind my commitment to find a solution is that today being the last day before Thanksgiving break, most schools have a turkey lunch for their students and their families. My daughters school can't afford it. They can't even afford dough nuts for grandparents day. I want to change that. The PTA does what it can but I don't think they have anyone standing behind this one... so I'm stepping up and I want to change this. What are some things I can do to help? Where should I go to ask for help? Please any ideas would be appreciated.

  • Answer:

Many businesses are more than willing to donate items, especially if you mention their name in the school newsletter, etc... (free advertising!) I agree with the other poster as well that you can solicit donations from the parents.
