It's better for your children to each go to the best school for them. That may be the same school or it may be different schools - it will depend on your individual kids' needs - and also on the schools available. (Both my kids needed an academic school - but since I have one boy and one girl and the best academic schools round here are single sex, this meant sending them to different schools).
No I dont think it is a good idea. A friend of mine has put her kids into different schools and they really want to be in the same school. They say it all the time. The idea and fact of having a sibling in the school gives a comfort I think.
If they get along put them in the same school. If they don't get along put them in different schools. Ask them what they think
Well personally I couldn't stand the extra running around with them going to different schools. They will be in different class rooms and mixing with their own class mates, so leave them at the same school. They will enjoy saying - that's my big brother, or that's my little sis.
I'd just put them in the same school, as from a purely utilitarian standpoint, it would be easier for you as a parent, as you'd only have one place to go to, for example when picking up children, and one set of teachers, administrative staff, etc. to deal with. Also, I think it would be better for the children, as they'll always have family in the proximity. I was in the same school as my brother, and I wouldn't have wanted it otherwise. I'm fairly close with him, so he's always been my friend, and as such it was good having him around. But also, sometimes situations will arise (and there's nothing you can do to prevent them) when one just needs family around, and it was great having my brother be there for me and vice versa. Unless your children absolutely hate each other, I'd put them in the same school. If you're seriously considering splitting them up though, I'd definitely ask them for their opinion. Hope this helps :)
