What should I write a satire about?

What is a Satire? And how do I write one?

  • Answer:

A satire can be any piece of writing (whether it be an essay, a story, or a poem) that makes fun of something or someone. There isn't really a specific format or length (however, if your teacher specified a specific format or length that you should stick to, then you should follow what your teacher says). You can write your satire on anything you want. It could be about bullies, littering, people who don't do their homework, etc. Just make sure that you try to make it obvious who or what you are making fun of in your satire. Oh, and by the way, I do not recommend writing a satire about your teacher (unless your teacher is okay with you making fun of him/her). When you are writing your satire, make sure you include lots of descriptions/actions that make the thing/person you are making fun of look super-stupid (you'll probably be using a bit of humor to achieve this).

Jedi

A satire is a genre of writing that uses dry humor to make fun of a topic. Saturday Night Live is a good example, because they are always making fun of politicians and celebrities. Another good example is Gulliver's Travels, though it is much deeper reading. as to length, I would assume that your teacher wants a satire about the size of an essay because there isn't a limit to how long one is, and can be from a paragraph to a thick novel. Hope this helps

I'll make it simple. Satire, is to basically use sarcasm, or dry humour to make your report humourous. I did one, on teachers being hippocritical. It was highly controversial, but it was a decent satire in its own right, so the teacher couldnt exactly moan... Just remember to be indifferent and DONT USE NAMES if you do this. :)
