How to take the log of an equation?

How do I solve this log equation?

  • 2 (5^ (x+1) ) = 1 + 3/(5^x) That's 2 times (5 to the power of (x+1) = 1 plus (3 divided by (5 to the power x) I need the answer to be in the form of a + log b where the log is in base 5 and a and b are integers. The problem I have with this equation is the addition (of numbers not of logs). How can I put the x's to one side of the equation and take logs if there is addition?
