Advice on an oral presentation?
-
im doing a power point presentation on a Chinese poet. In my presentation i give a little background on him and then im supposed to recite a memorized poem, but im not sure how to transition into the recital. any advice on how to lead into it? i also want to conclude my presentation with a quote and im not sure how im supposed to lead into that either. any tips are welcome! thanks! the concluding quote i want to use is actually by A.E. Housman. he says "Even when poetry has a meaning, as it usually has, it may be inadvisable to pull it out...perfect understanding may sometimes almost extinguish pleasure". the point of the presentation is to analyze a poem basically, so i thought this quote would be good to conclude with.

Answer:
well, i am not good on any tips for your situation....but i suck at giving power point presentations and my friend told me to look at the AUDIENCE, and she said not to use note cards so you don't look at them and i found that kinda works. sorry about my crappy tips. but good luck anyway.

Well i would first talk about the history, and say something like: he wrote many great poems, one i espically liked is called _______ and then reciet the poem. Depending on the quote you could end it different ways. You could say: overall, after studying so and so I feel that one quote symbolizes his life. or if the poet your studying said that quote, be like: so and so said (say quote) and these shows how he lived his life or bla bla bla. and then end it. good luck!
