How do I write a Counter Argument for my persuasive essay?

Can you help me with a counter argument for an essay?

  • I'm doing an essay about television ratings, and I need a counter argument, but i'm not too sure of how to make one. The essay is about whether I think a rating is a accurate enough for the tv shows i picked, and I had to use two shows. The first show I put as being appropriate for its rating (it was PG) and the second show i put as being not appropriate enough (it was PG but i believe its better as TV14). So i need a counter argument for both shows so how could I do it? Sorry there is alot here, but it would help me if you could start me out with it. Thank you. :]

    well, you need to pick through the first show and decide what in it parents may not deem appropriate for the children and why. the second show, you would need to think of the reasons why it should not be TV14, such as the content is not terrible or TV14 would not get the targeted audience for the show.

"Although some would think this isnt an appropritate rating, it is because it follows the guide lines for the ratings" Something like that. For the second one, I would write sorta the same thing as the first. "Some people might say that it is appropriate, it is actuallly not because there is a lot of sexual scences or voilce (Whatever is in the movie)... " So you see a counter argument is just refuting it...
