STAY AWAY from this topic, it will be a bad paper to write about because it is WAY to controversial and there are way to may things to address. Plus they turn out bad the majority of the time for or against. When a Society begins to accept homosexuality as an acceptable lifestyle your on the way to the demise of a culture. WHY!? homosexuality is a sin against the laws of nature, it is unnatural and when a culture embraces something unnatural as natural then you have just limited your ability to call anything else unnatural. A much easier paper would be on whither Gitmo should be closed or not. Also it is a pretty controversial topic right now and there is plenty of information out there. You could argue either over National Security or Foreign Policy. Another could be if weed should be legalised or not. Hope this was helpful Cheers!

I do this all of the time in debate I make three contentions and write out details for each Political Correctness: -Politically incorrect to tell someone that they can't marry becuase of their sexual prefrence, also say that it is like telling a person that they cant marry some one who is of a diffrent race and being told that you can't. Ethics: It is ethical to allow to people who love each other to marry each other, if a man and a women can marry each other and show their love in a public display then why cant two men and two women, also community property. that is all I got but I hope that it helps

I actually wrote an essay on this exact same topic, taking the same position, except mine had to be 7 and a half pages long. Anyway... -Your introduction should include all your main points. Then each paragraph will be each one of those points. -You could say that gay people deserve the same rights that everyone else does. They don't choose to be gay (or at least it hasn't been proven that they do), so they shouldn't be punished for being the way they are. This is like taking rights away from someone who was born with a disease, for example. -Another point could be that the purpose of matrimony is to be with the person you love. Marrying someone of the same sex doesn't take this away, if that's who you love. -You could say that people may not be ready to accept gay marriages, but that's because they are reluctant to changing tradition. Traditions and perspectives change throughout time. Why shouldn't this one change as well, if it's for the benefit of the gay community? Those are some of the points I used in my essay. Are you for or against it? Anyways, you should mention how taxes place an undue burden on any gay monogamous couple (or couple that has been steady for some time equivalent to marriage basically). You should bring up the fact that unlike the person above me the Bible does have some pro-gay writing in it. Sodom and Gomorrah were not destroyed due to homosexuality rather it was because they were inhospitable. The story of David he met one of King Solomon's sons and they somewhat fell in love. The bible never really mentions David and him doing anything sexual but in one part of the story it does mention how he loved the son as though he was a woman or something like that. And also King Solomon says something along the lines of you must marry one of my daughters I will not accept the current relationship (that being the one with his son) therefore he marries his daughter and then is still in love with his son.
