How can a foreign worker work in Canada?

How many hours can you work if you're 15 and have a worker's permit, in Canada?

  • I am doing a project on teen mom's and I need to know how many hours you can work in two weeks if you're under 15, have a worker's permit, living in Canada. I remember when I first got my job I was 15 and needed the permit but now I don't remember how many hours I could work in two weeks. Does anyone have the answer? Thanks :)

  • Answer:

I believe 8 hours a day is the maximum if under 18. 20 Hours a week if part time, and 40 hours a week if full time. Assuming they would be working full time (as they are a mom) then 40. But you could work more or less, request hours and such. Generally speaking 40 hours is the most you'll work. 40 (7 days) *2= 80 Hours for 2 weeks.

You usually get the form from the job you are getting a worker's permit from or you can just do like I did when I was 15. I got the form from Department of Social Services my boss had to sign it and someone at Department of Social Services had to sign it. Good luck because you sound like a hard worker.
