How is personal narrative different from critical essay?

Personal Narrative Essay?

  • We got this personal narrative essay assigned in my AP English 3 class, but I'm kind of confused. She said to write one that illustrates how education is important to you. So does that mean that I'm supposed to write an actual story story? Or just explain my ideas about what education means to me? I'm pretty confused, I emailed my teacher for some clarification but I don't know when she'll reply. :/
