Does noise pollution affect plant growth?

• I'm not a native english speaker, so i would really apreciate it if you would help me to correct this essay, if a wrote something incorrect or that sounds weird please feel free to tell me, thank you so much :) Yearly more than seventy thousand hectares are victims of deforestation in Panama in order to make place for new buildings, malls, houses, driveways, bridges, etc. Trees and plants are source of food, air, medicine, wood, and many other resources, they are also essential for the survival of many animal species, however, deforestation and contamination are growing realities that lead to the spread of diseases, scarcity of resources, pollution of air and food, etc. They affect us all; hence it’s in our hands to do something about it. As a result, I’m proposing a community program called “Plant a tree today for the hope of tomorrow”. It’s a volunteering program, in which all kind of people (children, adults and elderly) who wish to and are willing to help, can participate. The goal of the program is to increase the number of trees in green areas while we try to reduce deforestation and contamination. To achieve this, a group of volunteers will meet every Saturday morning, and we will go to different parts of the city -like parks and green areas-, where we will plant trees in spots where they will not adversely affect people living around, but provide them with benefits. Also we will try to collect all the trash found around the place because it contaminates the soil, affecting plant growth and spreading diseases. This program is a way to help our community and planet; it’s a way we can give something back and thank Mother Nature for all the resources she provides us. It’s a way we could help to improve our environment, so we can live in a cleaner and healthier world. This planet is our home, it welcomed us as a part of itself and gives us everything we need to live and be happy, therefore it is in our hands to take care of it. It’s relevant for us to understand the importance of sharing, helping and supporting, we must realize and be aware of the needs in our society, so we can try and give our bit to make it better, bring joy to others and work for a happier future.
