What are some good topics for a process speech?

Help picking a speech topic?

  • I need to write a speech for my COMM 101 class and I'm struggling with finding a topic. The prompt is: To explain or describe a civic or community process, idea, theory, issue, event, or problem in an interesting manner. I am not one that keeps up with current events, so I am not really sure what is spiking everybody's attention or interest in a civic or community process, idea, etc. So basically what I am asking is: If I were to be giving this speech to you, what would interest you? What would grab your attention and what do you want to know more about? What topics would be interesting? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
