    The Declaration was a reinforcement of many Enlightened ideals from Europe, which greatly influenced Thomas Jefferson, as the Declaration held upon the beliefs that the monarchy should take into consideration the will of the people and that the people should not be treated unjustly. The Declaration takes some of it's influence from both the "Social Contract" by Rousseau and "The Right of Man" by Voltaire. I hope this helps!
