How can I get back my money from a seller through PayPal?

How do I get some money back from an online seller (not ebay) paypal wont do anything !?

  • I purchased some items from a craft store online and paid via paypal, I had purchased items from them about 4 times prev without problems. When the order came 2 of the 3 items were sent and they had written on the invoice, item out of stock, do you want a replacement or refund, I e-mailed them and said refund. after a week no refund, e-mailed again asking whats the delay. no response. lodged a dispute with paypal, they send them an e-mail, no response, then moved it to a claim...paypal cant do anything because some of the order was sent !!! and they closed the dispute. I have been sending e-mails to the seller asking for my refund....still no response...what can I do now ? there is a number but no answer !!

Depending on the amount of money involved, you have a few options. If it was really expensive and worth your time and effort, you could take them to court, but it would have to be in their home state. You can report mail order fraud to the postal service. You can also report them to the Better Business Bureau. Paypal is not easy to work with for items paid outside of eBay. One last thing you could do is call the Paypal Customer Support and ask if you return the merchandise and show proof of shipment (deliver confirmation number), will they refund the purchase amount...it just might work....... Good Luck!! Completely forgot about the credit card chargeback, good call!!!

In addition to the above answer, if you funded the payment with a credit card, you can file a chargeback with the credit card company. They will want to see in writing where the merchant offered a refund and the amount you are owed.
