I sold something today on Ebay and on my paypal account says On Hold-Ship Now, why is that?

if you are new paypal has a new program that mostly for electronics they will hold some or all the money until you ship the item. If you don't have the money to send it, email paypal and tell them that you gotta ship this to at least release the shipping money. Make sure you get a tracking number when you ship it. It is the only way to prove you did.

first of all make sure its a legit buyer with a good feedback and paypal address is comfirmed, many scammers send you this kind of paypal emails and your money is really never actually there. has happened to me before. another thing that it can be is that paypal just started holding the funds available to you simply for security reasons, unless the buyer leaves you feedback or you ship the item and provide paypal with the tracking number, then you will have your money available, if paypal is asking you for tracking number of item i would go ahead and ship it, to be 100% percent safe just contact paypal.

I would contact the buyer and explain that the payment is taking time in clearing, and that you need to wait for payment to clear before you will ship. That is standard eBay practice for sellers, and the buyer shouldn't have a problem with that. Checking their feedback is good suggestion. It will help you out if they have excessive and/or recent bad feedback especially if it's about payment.
