    Besides a college degree in some form of psychology, I would say you have to be born with a sense of wit, confidence, and a honesty of life. And not be afraid to speak your mind, what ever the outcome. Then I would say you need to start out as an assistant, where you help one become the best they can be. Then he/she brags about you to everyone, and you help another, and another. until you become in demand. There you are now an image consultant.
