To have a business account, you'll need to bring your personal ID, such as a drivers license and social security card. You'll also need to bring your business license to open a business account. Since you don't have any employees, I would open your account with your name and business name. You can get a "dba" (doing business as) on the account. It will look like this: "John Doe dba Acme Plumbing" That way no matter how the payments are written out, you can deposit the checks. Different banks have different policies on whether you need a minimum balance or if there are any fees for having the account. Shop around and look for a good deal. My account with Bank of America is free as long as I use my business debit/check card at least once a month.
