How much does it cost for me to put some items on eBay?

Shipping cost for ebay?

  • Im going to start selling items on ebay. I am so stuck on how to ship them for a low cost. Lets say I sell a bottle of shampoo for 4$. Where would i get info on how much it will cost to ship it. I see people selling items on ebay for 2$ with free shipping. How do they make profit on it with shipping? With me selling multiple shapes and sizes of products, where do i get info on how to ship. Considering ill be shipping a lot as i'm trying to start a business. And what are the limits, like if i fit a object in a box, is there weight limits for certain boxes.envelopes? And about polymailers, can i just put a postage stamp on one and ship it out? Are there weight limits on those?

  • Answer:

If it's under 5 pounds of weight, use the post office. If it's over, then UPS is the cheapest way to ship. You can find out the shipping cost for the post office by going to their online calculator site, it's based on your zip code, the zip code you're sending things to, and the weight of the box with the item. http://postcalc.usps.gov/ I use it all the time, it's accurate for in the USA, outside of the US you have too many variables, it's better to take it to the post office and have them give you a figure for the cost. One postage stamp only covers 3 ounces, anything heavier needs more postage. Talk to your post office, they'll explain it for you.
