How to start a Quickbooks/Bookkeeping business?

• If you get somebody that is interested in being a client would I say the quickbooks bookkeeper expect to be tested by the perspective clients accountant and if so how often would i expect to be tested? Is there a way to show the perspective client that you have done bookkeeping before in some way or fashion to give them confidence the issue is I guess having only experience helping older folks pay bills as a volunteer and having taken a few classes I don't know how they would trust a new person in the field?

  I've done freelance quickbooks before. I am a certified Pro-Advisor and I would suggest you get the same certification from Intuit. The training/certification package comes with necessary software and paperwork as well. It also looks good on the resume. Instead of "being interviewed", I would expect to "interview". Audit their current accounts and track discrepancies. This earns trust. Run a few reports to determine entry volume level. This gives you a good idea of how many hours you would be needed each week. Many clients just want training into how to properly or better use their software. Be prepared with some type of remote access program like logmein.com....you will not always have the time to visit their home or business. Remote access is a great way to quickly solve problems when you get a call that there is one. Good luck
