How does eBay work?

How does eBay actually work?

  • How do you get paid off of eBay? I'm planing on putting some sneakers on eBay for sale, but i'm confused on how you actually get paid or receive the money from the buyer. So, How does it work? Do I give PayPal my bank card number and info, and then if someone buys it PayPal puts the money in my bank account or does PayPal send me a check or what? And my other question how much does eBay actually take? I know they take a certain percentage but does anybody actually know that percentage?

  • Answer:

eBay is designed to work with paypal. When someone buys your item the money gets deposited into your paypal account. You dont actually have to enter your bank card number but rather request a check and they will mail your check to you for $1.50. Not sure on how much ebay takes but an insertion fee is usually around $1 and a final value fee around $2 but really depends how much you sell your item for.

You would have to sign up for an ebay account. Then you sign up for a paypal account. Yes- you have to give them a credit card or bank account #. If you are only going to sell 1 thing, I would sell it auction style because ebay won't take as much out of your final value fee. You should at least give it a shot. I never thought I'd like ebay and now I sell tons of stuff!
