How To Sell Online?

How can i sell my art online?

  • I dont mean art i already have drawn. But if someone wanted something designed for them, how would i go about doing that. So far i have been "winging" it. I set up a site.... sketchazoid.blogspot.com to sell my art. But to also draw things for people. So if someone wanted a tattoo they could come to me. But my pricing is all confusing. And sometimes people want to see the product before they pay (understandable) But then how do i show them without getting ripped off? I know i have multiple questions...but it all ties into one thing...how can i sell my talent online productively, efficiently, and more clear? If you need to know what im talking about head to that link. And look at Price Sheet. Please help. My art supports my family. Im new to the whole online thing though.

That look more like a portfolio site than a site to sell. I'm a graphic designer so I might be able to give you some tips. If you want to sell more I think you should get a professional site made. Your site should include only the best work that your potential buyer would like because people are more likely to buy from a site with 1-3 great artwork than 5 great artwork and 3 whatever low quality one they wouldn't pay for (im not saying your artwork are bad, im just saying). To get more in depth with it..you should check out SEO. That's optimising your site so people will be able to find you within the first 1-3 page of google (more chance of people seeing your page). Other site you can look at is behance.net - more professional and deviantart.com , though this site is more arty..hobby like..dont rely on the site to support your family. I guess after you create a professional site you can join tattoo groups on facebook or whatever community site with people who will need your service and advertise your site (DONT SPAM your site url though). Price - that's like graphic design , people want to see it before they pay. Well they will have to pay if they uses my service. You can do a rough sketch for a lower fee and ask them to pay the full amount for the rights to use it. To make sure your things don't get stolen, put a faded watermark on top of your art with your business name so people can't still it. They still may be able to. You can ask for a deposit. ummm..check out other tattoo art site and see what they do. Most tattoo site have hundreds of arts for sale or a real store set up though. Hope this help..abit

A lot of people have deviantart.com accounts. People can view and comment on the art, and you can gain followers. Put a watermark on the artwork so that people do not steal it. You can showcase your art on the site and there are options to sell prints/tshirts and stuff. I'm not sure if it would fit all of your requirements but check it out :). Good luck.

You already received many good answers here, but I would suggest getting your own website/blog and finding a proven system that can help you promote and market yourself.
