www.iscripts.com has various readymade scripts... online dating, ecommerce, etc. if you are talking abut online dating you could use cybermatch. you'd have to look into the software specifics for all the features it comes with. the scripts they sell are open source. this means you can have another programmer look into it for you down the road or if you want, iscripts can also customize. they do not host your site. you are free to move it just as you are free to alter the script

WordPress is the way to go. There are thousands of themes and plugins to do what ever you want, search engines love WP sites. I use the S2membership plugin, (free version) to run my membership sites. I just use a commercial merchant account and paypal, never had a problem. When I need a shopping cart I use "Open Cart"(free open source shopping cart, steep learning curve) or Romancart.com (costs monthly but is EASY) If you want build in HTML, I suggest Web Page Maker. It is a What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) editor, so you just build it the way you want it to look. WPM comes with a bunch of templates, is easy to learn.
