Can 16-year-old sell things on Ebay?

Is it easy to create and sell things on ebay?

  • I wanna sell some things, such as my Wii, old Pokemon cards, clothes, old coins, and a bunch of other things...anywho, I want to sell these things. How do I do this? I don't have pay pal, and I really don't understand paypal. How does it work? How can I safely get money on ebay? Please help me, because I really need some money, and working 50+ hours a week ain't cutting it

    No it's no easy. Ebay never advertises the fact 50% of all items on ebay DON'T sell first time round. It will also be harder to sell items with a zero or under 10 feedback score. I always advise people to buy a few items before trying to sell on ebay. You will get some all important feedback and learn the ropes. You will need to register with ebay and Paypal so you can accept payment for your items and pay ebay selling fees. Once your item sells, the winning bidder is transfered to Paypal to pay for the item. Paypal will then notify that you have been paid. Then you post the item to the customer. Paypal is funded by a credit card/bank account but neither you or your customer sees sensitive card numbers or information. You transfer funds out of your Paypal account to your bank account. I have an ebay store selling items I make. It's a hard slog but I love working for myself. It's taken me over 7 years to build up a customer base and good reputation. I often work over 70+ hours per week buying raw materials, making the items, photographing, writing descriptions and listing. Good photos of the item are essential. I must add - don't try any tricks with ebay. They have seen every scam under the sun. If you bid on your own items (shill bidding) to drive the price up - they will know. Once you get booted off ebay it's virtually impossible to get back on. You can't simply register under another email address or use another family member. For your security, don't click on link from an email to log it to either your ebay or paypal account - type the address in your browser. Hope this helps. M
