Why are parabens bad?

I'm afraid of parabens?!!!!!!!!?

  • So I bought the ever amazing Anthelios SX Daily moisturizer and the Anthelios Melt in Sunscreen Milk. I know La Roche Posay Anthelios products are supposed to provide the best sun protection, but they contain parabens. I'm very conscious about the amount of chemicals I expose my skin and body to, and am afraid Ill hurt my body or even get cancer from using a product with parabens in it. What should I do????

  • Answer:

Either get over your fear of parabens or don’t use them.

Well, if you want to cut Parabens out of your life, you might like to know that The Townsend Letter says the following contain parabens: Topical dermatological medications, eye, ear and nose drops, rectal and vaginal medications, bandages, parenteral products, including antibiotics, corticosteroids, local anaesthetics, radiopharmaceuticals, vitamins, antihypertensives, diuretics, insulin, heparin, and chemotherapeutic agents!!! So you are going to have to cut out a lot of excellent products. I am not medically qualified, but have been told that the myth about parabens started with flawed research. I have used Anthelios products for years, and the parent company, La Roche Posay, saved my skin when I developed horrendous skin lesions due to cancer drugs. More info on www.after-cancer.com including info re parabens. Enjoy your Anthelios products. The French have the best post cancer survival rates in the world, and I am sure their hospitals wouldn't prescribe these products if they had problems. Verite R
