What is the cause of colon cancer?

What is the cause of colon cancer?

  • 2 recent theories have been proven false. 1 of them was "eating more fiber prevents colon cancer". This theory has been scientifically proven wrong now. Second theory was that "eating red meat" causes colon cancer. This has been scientifically proven wrong too as vegetarians get colon cancer too. So what is the true cause?

  • Answer:

Actually, there's not been a definite cause given or proven wrong. Risk factors are not causes. They just increase your risk of getting cancer. If you had a 0% chance of getting said cancer and eat red meat, then you still have a 0% chance...but who's to say who has that %. Age is the leading risk factor for colon cancer and many others.
