Does an enlarged/swollen lymph node hurt when touched?

Lump on the sternum, with discoloration? help?

• I have discovered months ago a lump - pin pong sized lump, on my chest. It is technically on the very low end of my sternum, centered on my chest. When I discovered it, it looked green. I thought maybe my bra clip because it is from the front, was causing it. I rubbed it trying to take off the color, but didnt work. I felt it hurt me when I touched it, so then I told my physiotherapist during a session about it, she said that maybe its a lymph node to put ice on it for 5min a day for 5 days. I did that, the pain faded away, but the lump is still there. Now it doesnt hurt like before but the lump is still there..!!!!!!!! it doesnt move, no pain now, but I want to know what the heck is that~!!! I am suspecting of a hernia, or could it be a tumor? please help! I need your input on this, though I am going to see a doctor today for this...
