Staph aureus in my lungs from having cancer?
-
so I'm 19 and about 4 and a half years ago I had cancer. After getting better (if you could call it that) I became very very tired, and coughed up blood, had trouble breathing, sinus pain, low blood pressure, fevers, headaches, sore throats, you name it! For years to the point that I was on and off independent study for half of high school and can only be on part time or half time schedule at college. No one would listen to my symptoms and test me for anything other than anemia or elevated t3. I finally went to a specialist who realized I have staph after doing a culture. He simply called it staph aureus in my lower sinus cavity and lungs, and gave me Erythromycin. I'm on day 2 now of a 10 day course, I already have the flu but I seem to be feeling slightly better. I can actually swallow, which I could barely do before because of all of the blood and mucus (gross, I know sorry!). My question is, has this happened to any of you? Will it continue to return? I'm wondering if it could be as bad as HA MRSA. The doctor didn't say it was methicillin resistant, but I just wonder if because I got it while immune suppressed in the hospital and I've had it for so long, that it could take a long time to get rid of? It's hard to talk to my specialist because he has many many patients in a private practice and he works 2 hours away from my house. I wasn't able to ask these questions before. Does anyone have any insight? I just want to finally have my energy back and live my life. I already do all of those things after years of research. Turmeric is actually a spice I take it in supplement (along with about 10 others) and also use it in my food. I also put ascorbic acid in my water and take vit d and e supplements among others. I eat as much raw honey as possible but have still been on the hunt for manuka. I may need to order it online. Thanks for the message board link. I don't have mrsa but hopefully someone will have had a similar experience.

Sorry to hear this, i would highly recommend you visit the www.mrsa-forum-usa.com for help and support, post a question there and many experienced people can advise you. Try to read through some posts of people in similar situations and the advice they were given too. Also I would advise looking into alkaline diet, avoid sugar, and look at taking herbal supplements (ask doctor first) like tumeric pills, also make sure you're getting enough vitamin C, E and D with a good quality vitamin (ask doctor). You'll need to boost your immune as best you can, rest as much as possible. For the flu, try lemon juice in warmed water with a teaspoon of manuka honey, manuka honey kills staff infections or so i've heard, it's expensive though. Tumeric is also good at killing these infections but is easier just to take in capsule form morning and night. Remember antibiotics will lower your immune so boost it up as much as you can, vitamin c is good for that too as well as tumeric (by the way tumeric is just an indian spice, but many people use it for its infection killing benefits so thats why you can get it at cvs/walgreens etc in pill form). Best of luck to you xxx
