What would be a positive arthritis treatment and medications for shoulder pain?

My boyfriend has Acute Spinal Arthritis. Worried about treatments, age, meds, etc..Looking for doctor's input?

• My boyfriend has been having back pain for a while now and has just found out that he has acute spinal arthritis. He is 65 years old and is already on a few meds as it is. He hasn't told me much but mentioned shots in his spine. He works all the time with his art so never fully rests. THats why it was overlooked as just "age" but How severe is this? I don't know what the other medications he is on is for, one started with an L.. the other a D. (I think it may be for pain. because he is healthy.) I worry though that something could happen with mixing the meds thats he;s on and the treatment that he may get. -My minds a little all over. Sorry my post is comming out a little all over. I just want to make sure he will be ok. Especially when you hear storys like what his grandmother went through. Healthy woman-His family is known for living well into their 90's+.-, but when she hurt her hip she was still fine but the antibiotics actually lowered her immune system and she ended up dying from getting sick. everyone thinks it was the meds that killed her.

  Hi I'm not a doctor just speaking from my personal experience. My Mother had arthritis for about 20+ years, and it got so severe that she could not get out of bed, she is in her early 60 and tried different medication and other things that were recommended to her many of the medication that she was given just hid the problem rather than helping her. I know that the doctor's have recommended medication but I would ask that they all look at this.
