What is middle school like in South Korea?

When does middle school in korea start, what month it ends, what month wi?

  • Answer:

The typical public secondary school in South Korea starts its year in March 2nd. They start their summer holidays somewhere around the beginning of July and end in August. It used to be late August, but now it's the middle of August. South Korean students used to attend school every first, third and fifth Saturdays of the month, but now they don't go to school on Saturdays at all. Hence, less holidays. Their second semester starts at the middle of August and ends in the end of December. It's usually after or before Christmas. Their winter holidays start at the end of December and ends at the beginning of February. Third years graduate at the beginning of February. First and Second years attend school for a day or so after the graduation and have Spring Break until March 2nd. International schools follow the American or British (not sure) school year. They start their new year of school on September. It will start snowing on late November. It will stop snowing on January, but depends on the region. The higher regions have longer periods of snow. Hope that helps.
