What is Tesco Induction about?

Is it possible that i can sue tesco mobile?

  • Basically i had this contract with tesco mobile about 8 months back, but i definatly had it cancelled. About 4 months ago me and my family realised tesco were still taking money from our account and i immediately called tesco to have this sorted out... And have our money returned. Just a few weeks ago we realised tesco has still been stealing money frim the bank account, and NO ONE has even touched a tesco sim in our family. We again phoned tesco mob. up and they also confirmed that the sim hasnt been in use for about 8 months and apologised etc and said will return the money as soon as possible, and coudnt do it at the time coz they werent allowed to pay back the money as it was out of their allowance or summin... TODAY i recieved yet another email saying they had my April bill ready and AGAIN are taking my god damn money!!! This is crazy! So is it possible i can sue Tesco Mobile and atleast get all the money they stole off us! Please anyone, lawyers, or ppl who know how to do deal woth stuff like this helpppp! Thankyou :)

The one question that I will ask is how were the payments taken? Was it by direct debit / standing order? because it seems to me that you have not cancelled the mandate with the bank. IF you had and the bank continued to make payments THEY will be liable for the loss (they in turn would get it back from tesco) as you are covered by the direct debit guarantee. it would be worth checking

You have to stop the direct debit. Until, then their computer will continue to do this. If you have written proof of your cancellation date you're in a good position and you should get your money back without suing them. While they're wrong no one is going to give you big damages as you have not suffered much loss and you probably should have kept a closer eye on your account. I'm not taking their side but trying to be balanced.

I am not a lawyer, but I do have knowledge. Yes of course you can sue them, your contract was cancelled. Them taking your money now is quite illegal, its stealing. You can take them to court, but it will be costly getting a good lawyer though :/

Google

yes you can but it won't be cheap and you can bet their lawyers cost a lot more than yours if you lose you will have to pay their costs as well as your own. It will be a lot cheaper if you get in touch with your local trading standards office.

I wouldn't bother with this , just put the whole thing in writing and send it to them recorded delivery and go to the C.A.B. if this doesn't work....suing costs thousands.

Corinne

you could try it. Tesco have good lawyers though.

However they are getting the money - cancel that direct Debit etc Next call up Customer services, ask for a supervisor... Get their name and number to contact them back on. THEN ask for them to stop the bills, that this is the 3rd/4th time you have had promises of return of funds and still they are taking more. You would also like compensation for the additional trouble this has now caused you.. not once but now 3/4 times. If that does not work, write a letter.. in fact writing a letter is the best way .. but maybe not the most convienient.
